NEW BLOG

Another fresh start here. The first entry explains the reason for the switch. This change will make this blog the third one I've deactivated. I will list all three as links on my new blog, therefore anyone can look back easily.

Hehe

Yeah, I really love Maggie.

Journal of July 4th 2008

There are two things on my mind. The first is a current hatred for Mitsurugi, who, in Soulcalibur III, can be a real asshole in the harder stages. I just spent an hour fighting him and got nowhere. Damn samurai. The second thing on my mind, dominating nearly everything else, is my excitement for Maggie's arrival tomorrow. I can't be nonchalant about it; I love this girl.

Second Hand Lovers

Sixty tall clicks of the clock,
You're still a minute away,
Tortured by time we rebel,
You're still a minute away,
We choose to forget our past,
You're still a minute away,
Dreaming of you here now,
You're still a minute away,
You hold me tight in your arms,
You're still a minute away,
Dissolving our lust through touch,
You're still a minute away,
Feeling your breath on my cheek,
You're still a minute away,
Yes I would be happy but,
You're still a minute away.

OPINION Persepolis

Persepolis on Rotten Tomatoes

Persepolis is a great film. It has wonderful animation, an interesting story, and a universal message of self discovery that anyone can take in. It is definitely worth a viewing.

Ok, now it's hot.

Esther's Summer on Cape Cod

Bored and curious what others are writing on their blogs, I clicked on the "Next Blog" button up top on the Blogger bar. What I found made me smile. It's a blog called Esther's Summer on Cape Cod and is written by a girl who just finished the first grade. She writes the most random things, it's really cute.

Apathy at Chute Lake Lodge

Yesterday, Dad and I went up to Chute Lake Lodge. It's an hour drive off of Lakeshore Road in Kelowna. The first half of it is rapid climbing over a rough dirt road. The second half begins when the road meets the old KVR rail bed, which then takes you to Chute Lake. Driving along the rail bed feels like gliding compared to the first road because it's so much smoother. There are some nice views along the way.

We reached the lodge by mid-afternoon and found no one to be in it. We stood around for a few minutes, looking at things, then an old lady came out from the back. I asked her what the cabin and camping fees were and she told me that they don't do that anymore because they can't get staff to work there. The hour drive from Kelowna, or any civilization, would be a pain, so I can understand why. They have even had to close the kitchen, so now I think all they do is issue fishing permits for the lake. Dad talked to her for a while and I looked around and signed the guest book. I noticed they had some good old songs on their Jukebox, but it was out of order. All the songs were listed on handwritten tags and I wondered when they were written. I felt strangely apathetic about it all.

The drive is what I really like. It has been mostly dry for the last week, so the rough and climbing road was really fun to drive along because the surface was loose and sometimes gave that sliding feeling of mud. The rail bed was wet in places, but as I mentioned before, offered some nice views. It was a good afternoon.

On the Rim

Wooden wheels scar the earth like the faces of the men who drive them. They push forth beneath the swollen desert sun, waiting for night's cool blue refuge. Dirty hands dangle freely over the carriage sides as their owners fall victim to the afternoon nap. They find peace on the move. There are no gallows of mass hanging. No rhythmic latch-swoosh-snap of death. No carts of limp bodies. There is only sky above and land below, of which they are now master.

Maggie

I love you.
